Adanach's story...
On the other side of the world, in a village in Ethiopia called Tede, there is a little girl named Adanach. She wasn’t very old when both of her parents died of AIDS. Unfortunately, little Adanach was also HIV positive. Her grandmother was very frightened to care for her and Adanach was neglected until some other relatives stepped in to help.
Adanach needed medical help as well as nutritious food, neither of which her family could provide for her. For Christmas this past year, a woman in Montana began sponsoring this little 5-year-old at $30.00 a month and we were so pleased to get antiviral medication for Adanach and be able to provide her with more fruits and vegetables, eggs, and meat.
However, the medicine and nutrition came too late. Little Adanach’s immune system succumbed to the ravages of AIDS and she became so sick she had to be hospitalized with liver failure. When she became a bit stronger, she was transferred to YWAM’s Orphans and Widows’ Home where she received tender care. Still, Adanach became sicker and sicker and now is paralyzed on one side of her body. Without this monthly support, Adanach would be suffering terribly without any help and her family would helplessly watch her die.
I would rather read stories that have happier endings, wouldn’t you? You can be part of a happy ending by sponsoring one of Adanach’s friends in Tede for only $30.00 a month. Your gift will make it possible for a very poor family to have enough to eat, to get medical help if needed, and to see that their child can attend school. Contact us at support@ywamethiopia.com if you'd like to sponsor a child.
Abebe is a darling 5 year old girl whose father died and is being cared for by her mother who has no income. Because her mother has no money, Abebe has not been able to start school, yet she is an active little girl who likes to play running rope. Her favorite color is red and she likes to eat pasta and drink orange juice. You can make a difference by sponsoring Abebe monthly so she can go to school and be able to afford nutritious food.
YWAM is a small ministry that takes personal interest in the poor families that are identified for our feeding or sponsorship program. Our Ethiopia humanitarian outreach is set up so that 100% of what you donate goes where it is designated.
Have you prayerfully considered adopting a child or children from Ethiopia? We currently have 20 children between the ages of 2 months to 10 years waiting to come home!! Please be sure to contact us - we'll be happy to tell you all about our program and answer any questions you might have.
We're also looking for prayer warriors - people who will commit to pray for one of our 'waiting children.' You'll receive a prayer reminder card and updates about the child you're praying for. This is such an important part of our ministry as the children are prayerfully matched with an American family and prepared for their lives in the U.S..
