Gudeta

This adorable baby, Gudeta, was born on June 14, 2009.  His teenage mother relinquished him to the nannies at our orphanage because she tested positive for HIV and was unable to provide for him.  Shortly after she left him, she disappeared and neither the police or our staff in Ethiopia have been able to locate her. Had she stayed in the area, his adoption could be processed – the relinquishing relative must appear in court to verify that there was no coercion and that they approve the adoption plan.  Now, however, there needs to be a two year waiting period before the child can be adopted unless his mother returns and her adoption plan can go forward.  So… it is likely that Gudeta will be living in our orphanage for several of his young years.   Please pray for his mother's return.
